Untapped Potential

  • Consistent color pallets in grid posts

  • Create carousel grid posts

  • Rephrasing bio to better explain the brand mission

  • Remove the link tree URL and replace it with a direct link to the organization’s website

  • Utilize the Instagram story feature

  • Create Instagram story highlights

  • Feature pull-out quotes from published stories

  • Only use stock photos when necessary

Why I determined an instagram update to be the most urgent change the PJP could make to elevate their brand. Identified in my creative assessment of the brand, below are the elements of the PJP’s Instagram that I believed needed revision.

Overall goal: create content that the audience feels compelled to reshare on their Instagram stories.

In order to best articulate how and why the above changes were necessary, I wrote this tactic in the plan book.

How to display inmate art:

The texture overlay ensures that displaying inmate art on Instagram does not take away from the page’s overall aesthetic. As the user swipes, the texture will be removed and the art will be revealed.

How to display success stories:

The PJP’s original social media presence lacked any evidence of success stories. By highlighting the positive influence the organization has had on the lives of inmates, the PJP can diversify its media content as well as build credibility among viewers.
